Austin Puppet Incident — The FORT edition

June 9th, 2012, The Fort ATX Taiwanese Fighting Puppets - Lucie Cunningham with Ben Cunningham

The third Austin Puppet Incident was at a new location, The Fort ATX, a local studio and gallery space on Austin's east side. With the new space came a new format, where experiential pieces were nestled all over the venue.

After the audience had gotten a chance to explore these, a number of more traditional pieces played on the outdoor stage.

Featured styles included tabletop, shadow, projection, stick puppetry, interactive toy theater & traditional Taiwanese fighting hand puppets.

Night on Egg Mountain March 25 & 26, 2011, Salvage Vanguard Theater

The inaugural performance of The Austin Puppet Incident, an evening of short puppet works. This event presented a Puppet Pandemic!, which features original puppet works created at the O'Neill Theater Center's National Puppetry Conference. Conference alumni from New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago reunite with their Austin brethren to perform short-form puppet theater for your amusement and amazement.

Marionettes, tabletop puppetry, object theatre, puppet film, a raffle with awesome puppet prizes, and more! Profits from this showcase helped fund The Alumni Scholarship that sends worthy puppeteers to the National Puppetry Conference so that performers across the country can continue to explore the infectious nature of puppetry.
